Preschool Mission
Winter Park Presbyterian Church Preschool has been serving the community for over 50 years. At Winter Park Presbyterian Preschool we provide young children in the Wilmington community with an educational experience within a loving, nurturing, caring, Christian environment.
Preschool Philosophy
Our goal at WPPP is to offer a curriculum in a Christian environment that is a safe and fun learning experience for each individual child. Our program will provide a rich environment that has stability and a routine, yet is also flexible. The children learn acceptable limitations but also at the same time learn to make decisions for themselves. The program is sensitive to and supports the development of each child as an individual and a family member with their needs always coming first. They will learn by doing, providing many opportunities to manipulate and explore materials. They will have hands on learning experiences and will build on these experiences. They will feel important and successful, having self worth. They will have respect from adults so they in turn can develop the same respect for themselves and others.
A true and genuine love of and for children is the most precious gift we can give to children. This, along with the knowledge and understanding of children will make for a successful and exciting preschool experience.
Preschool Staff
All of our preschool staff is credential certified from the
state of North Carolina.
Preschool classes and hours of operation
The preschool offers classes from age's one year old (toddler) through four year olds (pre-kindergarten).
Our hours of operation are 9am - 12 noon, with an optional lunch bunch to 1:00 pm. We run on a traditional school schedule (Sept. - May) and offer a summer camp for
2 year olds - 6 year olds.
